Default For those with aftermarket steering wheels

Sooooo I took a trip to the philippines and got myself a steering wheel and adapter kit... when they asked what kind of car...

i said "lexus"
they said <filipino accent> sorry boss... lexus is special import here... we don't hab </filipino accent>

i said "toyota"

they said "what year"

thinking that toyota would have used the same design in the same years... i said 92

so they said that's old toyota model... pulled up the correct hub and paid 8 bucks for it.... (yes you read correctly.... only 8 dollars)

so i go to install it today and either i'm suppose to take something off (the turn signal return mechanism which contains the connector for the cruise control) or i bought the wrong adapter.

I'm assuming the latter. It makes sense now if i got the "new toyota" adapter (versus the "old") as the newer one prolly took into account this stupid cruise control connector that sticks out making it impossible to fit the hub adapter.

Can anyone confirm? The back of the adapter kit i got is full face metal... there's just no way it's going to fit with the connector in the way.

Can anyone provide me with a part number I can use... it doesn't matter if its Nardi/personal/momo pattern as I will be using a quick release which is universal.

Or can someone direct me to where i can buy one?

Thanks for your time

you would need the later toyota adapter. the simmilarities in the supra and the SC started with the 93.5 supras. you have the wrong one.

man... i'm ready to go back tomorrow! haha

anyways... for the person going there... there's a street/place called banawe near metro manila, going towards marilou, meycayauan (sp?)

anyways... i also heard from my friends that i can still use that adapter and that I'd just have to get rid of that cover plate with the connectors for the cruise control... thing is i'm pretty sure it also contains the connections for the horn (which i MUST be able to use).

can anyone confirm that before i try taking off that cover plate with the yellow stickers on it?

LOL this is the Flip thread

I'm hopefully going back next year once I finish my course... Banawe here I come

I think you'd be better off getting a new boss kit with the cruise control buttons already on it. Can't remember who makes them though.
