I'm surprised that no one has mentioned this...Where are the OG's at?
How about doing restoration and maintenance before you spend all your money on mods..Since your SC is a 92, chances are you have over 100k-150k mileage. For 500 dollars, you can invest in a DIY tune up and maybe replace some of your degraded LCA bushings. In addition to attributing to your car's overall health, this will increase your resell value and your overall appeal to your car..
A neglected car with worn out parts and overdue maintenance is just no fun to drive..

Although $250-350 to buy new shocks and springs combo can be very appealing, I would shy away from this setup and wait for when fianance are available for the "proper" coilover setup.
Coming from a shock and springs setup myself (Eibach + Tokico), the ride quality from the ******** springs with no damping control and height adjustably can be displeasing after several months of use.
I eventually replaced my spring-shock combo with a Tein CS system approx 2 years ago. Till this day I cannot imagine myself driving around town with any other coilover system. They are firm at the lowest damping setting but yet still very comfortable. On top of that, I still have cornering abilities from them when I need it..The combination of all Daizen bushings (LCA, UCA, and sways) give the car the extra firm polyurethane cushioning needed to complement the softer riding Tein CS..

VERY GOOD IDEA!!!
if you have money left over i would put it into lowering it or putting tint on too as other people suggested
You won't get a good set of wheels and tires at 500$, that is if you can find some period.
And DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT put a body kit on with stock wheels lol
best of luck to you, dont cringe too much when all that money pours out of your wallet lol

The older version Tein CS has been replaced by the newly designed Tein CST..

You the man Dennis!!!!
I was reading through the first page going, "WTF?? Dude, TUNE UP!!!!"
I will never understand the need to lower a car before having running in perfect condition.

your driveway...
copper plugs - $2 each x 6 = $12 <or>
platinum plugs - $8 each x 6 = $48 <or> <<< original equipment
iridium plugs - $8 each x 6 = $48
spark plug wires
ngk wires - $62
that's the basics for a tuneup... tuneup is such a bad word in the automotive industry anymore... most parts do not have service intervals like they used to (rotors / caps, etc) and there's no sense in replacing something that works...
