Default MY New car 1992 SC400....

Hey I am new to this forum, I just bought my SC400 in October with 113k miles and this will be my everyday car. I love this car. Last week I bought the 99 front bumper, grill, and fogs from the dealer and installed it. It came out pretty good. I didn’t paint the car as yet because I am still debating weather to paint the whole car over or just the front (there is a lot of little marks are around the car). Since it is my everyday car I don’t plan on over doing it. My recent mods include the 97+ conversion, JL audio 12W7 with JL 1000/1 amp and 2005 sc430 wheels (not installed yet). What other mods should I do?

should i keep that door molding ??

My Project car 1977 corvette.. with a oldsmobile 455 motor.

right on The door moldings can actually look pretty cool with the right kit. There was a white SC somewhere on these forums with them and some kit with Work wheels and it was awesome looking!

SHAWING Yes I totally agree - I love the look with the molding- to me it looks better- and awesome choice with the conversion also i would just probably paint over the new bumpers because its your daily driver- if you were planning on making this your project car i would recommend painting the whole car- but anywho looks sweets and congrats your local forum nutpiece

Welcome.

Kill off the molding and change your transmission mount asap if it has not been done recently.

PS- the 99 conversion is not a front bumper. The sides make as big a difference as the front. The rear is only noticeable if you do the sides.

S-L-O-W. The old vettes were made to look sleek and sexy, but they have no HP at all. You have to build the hell out of them to get any power. Even my C4 was slow in comparison to most sports cars these days and it came with 100 more HP from the factory than this one. I dunno what that olds 455 is putting out, but I do know that those big blocks do not wind out so it's all low end torque.

Thanks for the feedback guys... Yeh you are correct when you say that the 97+ conversion is the side and rear pieces I didn’t get the full kit because it cost a lot more than I wanted to spend, especially since it is my everyday driver. I do have some transmission problems that have to be addressed and I am sure that the mount will have to be replaced as well. Other than that the car is pretty good.

As for my vette: I built the 455 about a year ago. With new performance heads, pistons and a race cam. That motor is amazing... the torque is unbelievable, and not to brag but I never lost a race. The torque is some where in the range of 550 - 600 and about 510hp. as for 0-60 is sure it’s less the 4.8 because I can run circles around my fathers 1999 corvette. The problems with the 455's are that they live their lives with low RPM. Redline on that motor is about 5200. This is very low. But at 2800-3200 we can get most of the power from the motor.

Well yeah those C4s were pigs. I'd like to see what that 455 does for the Vette

My little bro had a Olds 455 with a 850 Demon in his
78' "Smokey and the Bandit" look 'a' like Trans Am...

That thing was retarded. Smokey Wheels spins from 65mph on the highway.

on the Old Skool Vette!

You should shoehorn that 455 into the SC

Yeh i hand cuple of guys tell me that if i can fit that 455 in the vette then i can definatly fit it into the SC.. that would be a cool project if i had an extra sc300/400 lying around ....

455's are very powerful, i can spin tires in 3rd gear like nothing... am sure your brother had a ton of fun with his car !
