a lot of people have 150-300k mile cars on here

shouldn't be a problem with proper maintenance

I'm in the same boat as you. Im planning on buying a 300/400 over the next few months. When I posted a few questions people told me that if I want a car that lasts forever get the sc400, if I want a car that I can go crazy-fast get the sc300. I'm still looking/deciding. I'm probably just going to get whichever comes up for sale first thats a good deal (but would rather a sc300 6spd with black interior; but I'll keep on dreaming).

the sc300 only came with a 5 spd- just so you know- unless you plan on finding a highly modified one-

Default Headlights

Look at headlights to see if they are fogged or show sighns of starting to fog. Also Climate control LCD Bleeding. The Screens bleed and go black sometimes. Also the wondows. Window regulators going out is another problem.

About the High Mileage thats no big deal with proper maintainence. I have over 130xxxwith no problems.

milage is nothing to worry about on the sc. take for example

my 97 came with 142k miles on the clock, full service records and 18s as a bonus

my 99 beetle, though, came w/ 69k miles, but is litterd with mechanical problems, and an accident on the front fender we didn't find out till a few years later

moral is get to know the car before you buy it. mialage aint the only factor. service records, carfax, test drives, any thing you can get your hands on.

btw what part of nj r u in?

The headlights aren't that big of a deal, elbow grease will shine those NEARLY as good as new

look for more mechanical problems with the engine, although its true you can get them at around 1k or so now, its something you don't want to resort to
