Had a sneaking suspission it was Armor All.

So if I use the 2000 grit sand paper, will it really mess up or scratch the hell outta it?

If I use the 2000 and then use the Plast X you think it will look clear and new?

I just dont want to make it worse and not be able to see my needles that still actually work.

I've got the same thing on my 97, and my 92 had the same thing but a little more severe!! I use the plastic x polish on my headlights and it works like magic after 2 or 3 layers. That's a good idea using it on the guages!

I think the trick with plastic x, or my favorite the 3 step system from novus is to use a machine to polish. Walmart has these chepo ones that are 5-6" and cost like 20$. And now they sell micro fiber bonnets for them. I've found they work great. 95% of what the air powered angle polisher sytem I payed 150$ for.

forgot to add, used the 2000 & or 1500 grit papers to take the majory of the crap off first. the trick is to use one single pice of wet/dry paper untill its very dull, then move up to the next grit & do the same. Lots of water, and make sure there are no contaminats between the headlight & paper. Sand with one grit for 2x as long as you think you need to, then double that amount of time, and your about half way done with that grit.

Everything is closed today so I will be grabbing some 2000 grit tomorrow and working on my instrument cluster.

My headlights are not yellowed out yet, so they can wait.

I will also be picking up my new stubby antenna at the post office and installing that too

Well I couldnt get it done with the 2000 grit and the plastiX.

When I placed my order for coilovers from L-Tuned (Carson) I also grabbed a new plastic. It was only $20.20 or something. Now it looks perfect
