Default Deal Of A LifeTime!!!!

I just bought a 1996 SC300 for my swap, Ill prob go with a 1 , 1.5 or 2 jz swap but the best part is I got this one owner baby for only 3k! She runs smooth as silk with 250k but I dont really care about the mileage because It is my project car! I already have a 92 SC400 but this one is my pride and joy!! BTW I have to thank everyone for all of the knowledge that you guys put out on this forum I would never have known what I do know about the SC without this forum. Thanx.

Sc300 Stock for now.

Wow that paint is looking good. No way in hell I would think that's a 10 year old car with 250k miles. We'll be waiting to see how your project turns out.

Ok first of all, Nice car man, looks really clean! Second, you said you were gonna swap a 1, 1.5 or 2jz in it. What exactly is a '1' and '1.5'? The 1JZ-GTE is a 2.5L and the 2JZ-GTE is a 3.0L. Also the stock 2JZ-GE is a 3.0L aswell. Just tring to help you understand a little more

A 1.5JZ is a 1JZ head with a 3.0 GE or GTE Bottom end. Most people do this to get the extra .5L.

Default Thanx for the props

Thanks for the love! Yea, I feel I really came up on this one, but what would some of you more senior guys think the best way to go about bringing this baby to life? I am going to go all out and I pretty much am going to start with a Optima Red or Yellow Top Battery, Carputer/ Custom Audio with Plexi and Just a bit of light, with Navi and then re-do the interior with soft leather / carpet (color suggestions?) put either a 1 stage IS or RX steering wheel , lextech gauges, body kit , paint (metallic black with extra flakes) airbags or coil overs, exhaust, then start on the swap. I would love to go 2jz all the way but with some of the threads I have read it can really be a horror story (harness problems) and you may loose some functionality (air/ PS) thats why I thought a 1.5 would give me the best of both worlds (spool rpm/overall HP)(thanks to CL and supra forums) I have pretty much spent all of these months (over a year) researching this forum on swaps and etc..... Like I said I have a 92 SC 400 and after reading about supercharging and how time consuming and hard it is to upgrade I decided that I needed a SC300 for a swap and was really obsessed with finding the right one. So to make a long story short a year later here I am selling my SC400 and treating my new ride like a newborn baby.. I have read through as many threads as I can to not sound like a newb and I have posted a few times but now that I am in the game I will be posting a lot more. So any advice/Help would be greatly appreciated.

Whoa calm down. Make mods one at a time or you'll find yourself in $$$ troubles. First fully restore the car and make sure all suspension/motor maintenance has been addressed.

Specifics include:
- Motor mounts
- LCA Bushings
- Blown shocks
- Steering rack

Then start modding in different areas in this order:
- Handling (coilovers, wheels, tires, et)
- Power (swaps, turbo, etc)
- Exterior/interior (bodykits, etc)

Because power is useless wtihout handling and traction. And its better to be fast and look slow, then the other way around.

Good luck.

Yea I don't want to get myself bogged down so yea I will take it one step at a time, BTW what do you think about air bag suspension though? I definitely want to get that custom / car show look like you have going. As far as full restoration goes should I really be trying to restore the things that I will eventually am changing out? I know this process takes a long time but would I be wasting my $? I threw a lot of money into my 92 for just maintaining it and it was just wasted.
