well im only 16 and dont have much money....but that hasnt realy stoped me from my cars. I have owned many cars ex. 91 crx si, 93 240sx, 2 e36 bmws and all in a time period of 4 months. Well i contemplating on selling both my BMW's to get a nicer car. A car i always had in mind was an sc300 but i knew i was never going to get a nice new stick one for a low price.
Today i was looking at cars and i found a 1996 5sp sc300 for only...........................3500!!
well the only problem is that it has been rebuilt. Im not sure the extent of repairs that were made but im going to go check it out. Is there anything i should look for that go bad on sc300's and do you think its worth buying a rebuilt one even if the car runs straight and solid?
white exterior and black interior. it looks pretty damn clean in the pics and all the body panels line up so.

Read this:
www.intellexual.net
We also have a handy "search" feature at the top right of the screen where you can find answers to commonly asked questions, and luckily for you most of the things you will want to know as a new SC owner have already been covered in depth. Just enter a few key words in the search field and read the threads that pop up. Welcome to the club
PS-know what you're getting into financially before purchasing this vehicle. Research some common parts prices and see if it's something you will be able to handle. No point in owning a car you can't fix when the need arises. Good luck.

Off the top of my head these are some things you'll most likely have to attend to:
front lower control arms (control arms run about $400 a pair for the front thru Carson Toyota)
instrument cluster lights (can be fixed through Lextech or other lighting repair businesses)
cracked leather interior (@ $600 for a replacement set of genuine leather covers from leatherseats.com plus installation)
leaky p/s pump or high pressure line, cam seals, valve cover gaskets, timing belt, leaky rear main seal, etc.
You will also want to get basic maintenance taken care of like a tune-up, tranny flush, brake fluid flush, new brake pads, radiator flush and fill, etc.
I'd say to have at least a few hundred (say $500) stacked so you can change fluids and pads and whatnot when you get the car so it's running safely and efficiently. The rest you can handle as funds and time permits...but you can't wait indefinitely. Get the car in good shape first then mod it if you like
