Default SC max horsepower...

Does anyone know what's the maximum horsepower you can get out of a modified SC with every possible upgrade(twinturbo and all that good stuff)? And how much would it cost? So far the fastest I've seen is 500 something...

well the 2JZ-GTE motor (can be put into SC) has been pushed over 1000HP in a supra not an SC, meaning you would probobly have to do extensive transmission work (most likely a supra 6spd) to make that power in the SC

No, I meant with a stock engine. How much horsepower can it handle? And is it possible to twin turbo it?

It is possible to do most anything to the engine. A single turbo will give you more power...the majority of high power supras/sc's are single turbo.

From what I've seen, 600hp seems to be the amount of HP that the block will handle safely. I've seen some cars running 700-800hp on stock blocks with no problems...but I would stay around 600hp to be safe.

If you give Toyomoto a call (305-599-3050) they can answer all your turbo questions for ya. I recently put their turbo kit on my SC, and it's awesome. Once I get over 600hp, I'm going to go ahead and upgrade the internals on the block, and make it a 3.3L stroker engine.

My car made 662 RWHP with blown 6th piston, and a lock up style converter that wouldn't lock up (i.e. well over 20% drivetrain loss).

yeah i'd say anywhere from 600-700rwhp before needing the bottom end built up...

the gte long blocks can handle around 800-900rwhp before they need it... just depends on your setup, how well its tuned, etc

exactly why I'm trying to find a nice GTE block to build a stroker with. I wonder what HP it'll be good for? If I do find one, I've got a GT block that I'll sell for cheap, it has 80k on it tho.
