I like the black on black. Seems like a good deal if you don't mind the body work and salvage title.

Hey guys,

Had the body shop look at it today. They quoted me 4ish to fix it, and they do fantastic work, so it will be done correctly. Looks like I'll be out the door for ten or so, for a blk/blk/5sp with 71k. However, its salvage, so its about the right price, not some sort of stellar deal.

The great thing is that I can't really find this car anywhere else. If anyone has any leads for a good looking serious boost candidate with a manual let me know now!

Thanks again for your help,

Ian

I'd bring $5K cash, and I'll bet he'll take the cash once he sees it. Im guessing he has been trying to rid himself of this SC for a while, after reading other members input about this exact car. Try the $5K cash, and he should bite... If not at first, just keep mentioning the salvage title, the extensive damage, and all the time and effort it will take you to get this SC back to where it should be...Just a thought...Just trying to save you a grand!

Yeah he said he positively wont' go below six. So I was thinking 5500 cash. I am not very good at telling how serious he is.

How do you figure that? The owner is a pretty close friend of mine. If it were anyone else it would be about 5k to fix.

Well, you guys are entitled to your opinions. I've worked in a body shop and rule number one is never used used panels, and especially so on a black car as it shows every dent. I'll pay more and fix it right. The rocker is damaged pretty good, and they'll blend every panel.

Wish me luck!

Enforcer: yep, got it! By far the slowest car I've ever owned lol this is painful! I think there is something up with the spark or something though... it seems to miss a bit in the midrange. I'll get a new cap/rotor/plugs. Are the wires a common problem?

Aliga: I'm sorry I didn't articulate my point well. When you replace any panel, replacing that panel with a used panel is a terrible idea, and worse so on a black car. Any used panel will not be perfect or straight, and will require work. The big reason though which I'm sure you know is that to do a quality job, you'll need to do a lot of work on the back side of the panel with drilling out the spot weld points and then re-fabbing them to line up correctly. A new replacement panel is literally a point and shoot ordeal, and will require no prep work on the either side. I do things the right way, one time. There is no way anyone can assess the damage over the internet. Thanks for your opinion, though.

Ian
