Default sc-400 vs gs-400?

My friend has a 2001 GS-400 which has 300hps if I'm not mistaken. Now would my 290hps SC-400 take his car being that it is more aerodynamic and over 1000 pounds lighter? Just curious, he's too square to ever race me, but I'd like to know.

Also, while we're at it, what are some good cars to race with an SC-400, stock against stock?

Well on paper the GS is a lil faster than the SC ( like 0.2 or 0.3 )
but never raced one
I would also like to know if anyone ever raced one

that'd be a good question for the GS guys

as I've already proven I know nothing about the later model 400 series cars

Thats way off the cars weigh about the same
the 1999 sc 400 is 3655lbs
and a 99 gs400 is 3693lbs
since they are so close the gs400 will be faster because it has 10 more hp.

Oops, I meant to type in 100 pounds lighter.

I'm getting different figures from different sites, but it looks like the SC4 weighs in at 3610, and the GS4 is 3707 on epinions.com. But then at Lexus.com, the GS4 is 3693 and the SC4 is 3610. 10hps can easily compensate for the 100lbs excess, but what about aerodynamics and handling of the SC?

I've encountered a few GS400, and while the GS is a hair quicker to 60 (and I mean by only a tenth of a sec or so) according to the magazines, it's pretty much dead even in the real world.

Lex400sc, what year is your SC?

In 1999 the SC4 and GS4 were identical in 1/4 times. It only varied from car to car...

Plus the SC4 having a faster top speed...

i have experience, raced a gs430, and the sc400 (290hp) can very very slowly inch away. though that is with one extra person in the gs430 car, its not going to be a blow out either way unless one of the cars is modded.
