Default Weight distribution in SC300 ?

Does anyone the weight distribution in the SC300 (manual) ?
I took my '97 out to the mountain curves for the first time and it was INCREDIBLE. I was shocked at how well the handling is. Everything's stock (upgraded chrome 16" wheels w/ new tires).
Maybe coming from a FWD car, this RWD is the difference?
I never knew the SC300 had such great handles... how does it compare with cars like the Prelude or a 3 series BMW?
my only gripe is that the steering is very soft.

I've wondered before, but given the handling you've described, with the stock suspension,I guess it's never bothered me enough to investigate. These cars do have a tendancy to oversteer rapidly at the limit;something a better rear swaybar can tame I've heard.
The Supra that shares the similar components, but with different settings,is quite a handler as well, just not as smooth/floaty.

beats me, but i recently took my sc400 up through some awesome bodacious mountainous curves in helen, ga.
my tires were a- squealin! and i was a- wheelin!

i was surprised too at the way the sc handled, it was
the first time i really drove the car through some tight
banked curves aggresively and it held its grip securely
while adrenaline was rushing all throughout me
and my passengers, one false move and it woulda
been the movie scene where a car dives off the edge
of a cliff.

225/55/16" VR is pretty darn wide.. it grips very well

which BMW 3 series? the new ones or the older ones?

I know the SC3 was on par with the older 3 series, but not the newer chassis

the prelude isn't anything special... typical understeering fwd car

I think the SC300 is a 55/45 i'm pretty sure... somewhere around that mark... it would be VERY close to a SupraTTs since its the same chassis and it weighs the same (it does have a stretched chassis tho)...

the SC3 has a long wheelbase, much longer than the cars you just mentioned; longer wheelbase cars handle higher speed turns very well

55/45 is pretty good. i was thinking how it compared with the current E46 3 series.
i know the prelude is FWD, but it was also honda's flagship for handling.

ummm wait a sec... I thought the Integra Type-R was Honda's flagship for handling??

Oh I see you're thinking in the frame of Honda and Acura being two seperate entities... I still refer to the NSX as the Honda NSX

as far as handling goes, the SC300 is pretty neutral up to the limit... of course you can make it plow, but oversteer is easy to come by with all that low-rpm horsepower

yes i do think of honda / integra as separate entities. because it would be the nsx and not the ITR as the Acura's flagship for handling

Prelude has been Honda's 'thing' for a while now. For the Type SH, they even added that thing that spins the outer wheel more to improve handling. I know its FWD, but I consider it GOOD handling for the class of car that it is in.

BTW, just to throw it in,,, the best PRACTICAL car Honda/Integra has ever made,,, was, is and always will be the '94-'95 Legend Coupe 6spd

Wink better late than never...

The SC4 is 57/43 as quoted from a "Road and Track" April 1999 issue and my mechanics... The SC3 is 56/44 according to my Lexus mechanics...
