New proud sc owner
So i just got an sc 3 days ago... its a 95 5-speed, color is diamond pearl white, and the car has 94k when i got it. Best of all, the car has never been in an accident ever in its life. When i got the car, timing belt and water pump had just been replaced, and tires are brand new. Upon close inspection of the car, i noticed 2 small dings only, both of which i can live with. The interior in very good condition, other than the common center vent crack and the climate control is a little fuzzy.
Pictures will be up shortly... right after this ugly rain!!! i refuse to drive the car around in this kinda weather :P
A little about myself... I previously owned 2 240's, 1 is a Auto 95 which i sold because it just doesnt feel right with an auto... so soon after that i got a 97 240sx Le 5-speed... i loved it, great to drive, lots of information and almost everything that goes wrong with the car you can DIY or fix by searching on nicoclub.com and zilvia.net! (club240 use to be good until mods started bullying... )
Now that i got my first sc300, ive noticed a few pros and cons of both cars.
sc300 pros:
- Awsome timless styling
- tons of power
- very luxurious
- very quiet even at high speed! (i can hear my music!!!)
- very high tech
- very comfortable to drive
240sx pros:
- lots of aftermarket parts
- i dont worry about driving the car as hard as i want
- love the suspension when cornering
- very stylish as well ( 97 ofcourse )
- lots of forums filled with budget minded people trying to get through life and have fun with the car at the same time
sc300 cons:
- VERY expensive to fix... im scared sometimes to drive it hard.
- Parts are very expensive and aftermarket parts are not as easy to come by.
- Not alot of DIY fixing information.. get alot of "go to the dealer"
240sx cons:
- Gets too noisy in the car on highway... specially window noises
- suspension stiff with aftermarket springs and most coilovers... i swear i feel every bump
- Lots of little rattles and noises which drives me nuts!!!
So yea... i love my sc.. only thing is sometimes im so afraid to break it... i cant even enjoy really driving it... if anyone has anything to share with a new owner, please, speak up!!

anyone else feels the same way? i mean being worried about parts breaking down and not drivng your car as hard as you like? im not talking about pushing it, but im just worried to really drive it.
if i have the fsm i would feel 10x better

You are actually asking about the Factory Service Manual. There are some available online, but I've heard they aren't exactly good. Spend the money and get a real one.

Yeah the SC will be able to take more abuse than the 240s... I treat my SC400 like it's a god buy I know somebody with a '93 SC400 and he beats the living crap out of it and is pushing 240k without a single problem(except tune-ups and other junk like that). Anyways, congrats on the buy
