I voted no because ive been hit in the face by two of those things before and let me tell you that now i sit as far away from them as possible, i actually prefer cars before stupid airbags were mandatory, i will be disabling mine very soon, not to mention if you do get into a wreck thats big $$$$$ to replace all the bags, ecu etc....

No Airbag for me. Airbag gives you more severe whiplash. With 4 or 5point seat belt your not going anywhere and with not so much injury as the cross the chest ones do.

Mine will be comming out. Most likely both.

Much like anti-lock brakes (which, if you KNOW how to brake, are largely unecessary), I can do without the steering wheel airbag. The only front-end crash I've ever been involved in (in my 17 years of licenced driving) occured on an ice-covered freeway and involved t-boning a spun-out minivan. Fortunately the airbag didn't deploy, because I didn't look forward to the $1,500+ that I've heard it can cost to replace that thing.

Not to mention, like somebody else stated earlier, I'm just not sure it's worth it having that thing nearly decapitate you in non-life threatening impacts. Which I'm sure would be only compounded by the fact that I've got a pair of glasses sitting on my nose ready to be smashed square into my face by that split-second punch-in-the-face.

With that said though, I seriously doubt that I'd switch to a bag-less wheel though. I wouldn't go stripping safety features from the car. I'd keep it.

Sounds like your undecided 3Dhaus! Glasses broken into your face with airbag speed faster than Jet Lee's Punches will never sound good to me.

As safe as the SC's are, I would NEVER drive ANY car without duel airbags... I wouldn't want to ever risk the lives of my passengers, that's why duel bags are important to me. I am usually VERY reserved when I drive, but those tendencies do come out of the blue at times(only when I'm by myself, never with passengers.)

Aside from my SC, I also have an 86 300zx which never had an airbag as an option. I still drive it. Beleive it or not, there was a time when cars didnt have them.

Default So lets just say...

Hypothetical Situation

Your driving down the H3 in Hawaii, when the rain is SOOOO BAD you can't see... then the cops decide to sit in the middle of the road and forget to turn on the lights or put out any flares... you can't see through your windshield - yet you decide to drive anyway.... you spin out and hit a tree...

OH WAIT - that really did happen to you

You know what to do!

I've got into an accident when I was 16 with no airbag in a heavy rain. I can't compare to having airbag in an accident but I would like that option if I was in one. But like stated above, people with 4/5 point seat belt wouldn't need it..?! It all depends on what other safety features you have, too.. I guess

I beleive you said it was a fact. 3 spoke steering wheel, I beleive there is a company that makes airbagless covers for some fact wheels.

I'd keep it... I've actually only been in one (minor) accident, and that was 5+ years ago in a car w/ no airbags, so I don't REALLY know. I just have a feeling that I would rather have them. As much testing as the manufacturer's have to go through says they do SOME good at least.
