It sounds like this thing is giving over 50 hp itself if it can beat the torque converter, intake, exhaust, and heatshield all together

Default 50 hp

No, probably around 20-25hp
The exhaust, filter, heatshield, and torque converter, dynoed at 12 hp. The torque converter does not add horse power at all, it just reduces lag off the line.

Good idea on the "more lexus models" idea...

there are a couple turbo boys on here with SC300s that are looking for a good way to remove the revlimiter and reprogram for different sized injectors... when you have a turbokit that makes maximum power at redline; then you know there's a lot of power left to go... not to mention the cams that are supposed to come out soon enough

Hi Smooth, what is the benefit of your "chip" vs the S-AFC? Also how will it handle the mods a person adds later?

I think you guys at www.lexussc400.com are heading in the right direction...

Q: How many members here are member there too? We should be members at both places IMO... It is a site dedicated to Lexus Sport Coupes.....

Sounds great. I want to buy one, can come to Redondo, but want specific details on performance before buying. I hope you post actual performance changes soon. I have 1996 SC400. Thanks

I agree, saleability is based on HP numbers. Whether it's 10 or 100 hp, no peak gain but a broadened power band, people need a number or a graph before they lay down serious money.
The Apex'i SAFC might be useful combined with this chip.. we will have to see. I may have mine re-installed then dyno tuned.

How can the SAFC be useful with this. Wouldn't the ECU update do the same as the SAFC?

no, this chip is ignition timing, the AFC would just augment the fuel flow a little. The gains seen by AFC users are not very big. A WRX in import tuner only got 3 extra after a couple of mild mods. I already have an SAFC so I was going to put it to use.
