Track Car - 5zigen's FN01RC? 17" woes
Im still undecided on what direction I want to take my SC. Basically the rims are the deciding factor.
Ive been thinking of doing track/auto x. I remember seeing the 5zigen FN01RC black/polish.

However... They only come in 17"x 7,8,9,10 in many offsets and a few random places I will be able to find 18"x9.5 (30ish offset) for an extra $150 per wheel.
Although these would be my first choice, the fact of barely any lip and the limited 18" sizes... I dont think it really justifies a good "show" car.
Im obviously limited on money, college.. and for another 6 more years lol.
I really dont know where I was going with the above, but my question is do you think that this would be a well suited track wheel?? I prefer to get 18" wheels, but 17" comes in many better sizes and offsets. I just dont know how 17" would look and feel with the larger tires than the 18". oh and the fact its about $150 more per wheel kinda turns me off.
Let me know what you guys think. The car (if I choose this route) will be on full coils, and any stabalizers/bushings I can do.
OR should I just give up the idea of mangling a poor SC into a track car?
looking for input, thanks
and dont tell me to buy a different car LOL

17x10 is skinny?
I ran them on my 240 in 17x9 and 17x10 in silver. The black polish is lame IMO. fake lip.
Nice wheels for the price but they are not classy for a Lexus. If you are building a track beast then go for it! 18x9.5

track as in drag strip or road racing? as far as drag strips go id just get a 17 by X wide. as for road racing personally id use 18's. ive tried putting the sc in a road course and its ok for a bit but the auto sure as hell doesnt help. hard for me to really call an sc a track car without a lot more work.

I have wheels that area that style, but the spokes are thicker and the hub area is less profound and there is no REAL lip, so the spokes look longer...they are also 17s, and my car is dropped
even tho i don't track it

Please don't make your sc a track car unless you are prepared to spend the money to do it right, like gutting it, putting in a cage, full suspension, ect...otherwise wheels like the 5zigen fn01rc are better left to a 240sx. They are great looking wheels but they don't fit the style of our cars.

If you are going track, those wheels are functional and light. But, there are solid racing-style wheels out there available in tons of fitments that would make the car look sweet on the road and still perform essentially as well on the track. I would get wheels that are good looking, sporty, and light. Probably would offer you the right personality that you are looking for.
