Removing quarter glass

Has anyone ever removed the quarter glass from an SC???? I know, I know call the auto glass people. But for anyone that has ever attempted, any success? Tips??

the ghetto way, take a hot knife to cut thru the rubber from the inside.

i did a few and it gets messy.
