Default What is going on with Bomex??

Anyone have an idea what is going on with Bomex? I thought their body kits were of very high quality yet I'm seeing complete kits, Full front, rear, side skirts in the $ 600 range. I hear of their great fitment but I wonder if it is still the same quality when they are priced out so low.

Thumbs down

For the SC3/400's, I only know of one kit which is RICER imo; it wouldn't surprise me if the kits are cheap because of high supply and low demand (at least in the US.)

They don't look good! Stick with the good brands. Like Vertex Full for agressive look or Vertex Half, AC for a clean and lower looking SC, JIC, and my fav the Phenix Target Kit. You get what you pay for!!

After I destroyed two JIC magic bumpers, I switched to a bomex bumper for greater ground clearance. The fitment was perfect and the quality was up to par with any other body kits out there. Yes, I've heard that the thickness/quality of the fiberglass used on the bomex kit has been deteriorated, but it is of much better quality than the knock-off kits you see on the market.

Well now were into a lot of subjective opinions. Someone who decides not to mod his car at all would consider any body kit "Ricer". Then there is the opinion someone should spend more on a well known body kit and set of wheels than what the car is worth. There are a lot of people who do not place our sc's in some elite status, probably why SC's get slamed in resale value. My question had more to do with a possible decrease in quality since the kit is sold as pretty much "bolt on" I'm not crazy about the sides or rear but I'm looking to change those anyway. The kit is actually closer to $900, the web site had the wrong price.

Bomex quality used to be very good and the fitment used to be almost perfect. Then they outsourced to a different nation to make their body kits. Ultimately their quality was not as great and people complained, now their kits aren't expensive because of their own choices. Also since all of the knock off companies came out and started copying them, of course they had to lower their price to compete with the copies. Can you blame them?

A painted bomex front bumper just sold on ebay for $102.50. My guess is they are probly just trying to get rid of some stuff thats just sitting around collecting dust. I have never seen an SC with a bomex kit besides on their website and on intellextual.

Only when knock-offs were becoming available just like Vertex kits now (sorry, but knock-offs just do the auto aftermarket damage)
