I have a very clean 92 SC300 with 89K miles, moonroof, very good interior, great mechanically, etc. All stock, red, AT.
It was in a minor mishap, went under a SUV's hitch at low speed, and now needs a hood, front bumper, headlights, and high beams. I figure it will cost $3000 to make it right again, even if I get some used lights, just guessing because a body shop will have to do the paint and some other minor work. At that point it will be a very very clean car though.
I was going to sell it anyway. Once you factor in $3000 to fix it, which way will I come out ahead, selling it as is or fixed? I'm near Chicago, if that makes a difference.
Thanks,
Don M

I just found out that my comprehensive coverage (didn't have collision) might cover the lights. Which is a shock to me since they were broken in a collision. I'm going to call them tomorrow. If so, that's a big chunk of the repair bill covered right there, so maybe I'll fix it. Of course, I could pocket the light money and still sell the car. Decisions decisions.
