Default Pricing opinions - 162k mile '92 SC400

Hello all,

First time posting. I was wondering what a good price would be fore a '92 sc400 with about 160k miles. The interior was re-upholstered and looks pretty new and the body is mostly clean (some light bumber scuffs). Owner says the dash needles were redone and timing belt work has been replaced (not sure exactly when though). Owner's asking $5000 but says it's negotiable. The car doesn't look like it has been in any accidents but still need to verify.

Thank you all for any help and opinions!

$3000.00 Yes it will last to the 300k mile range...yes its a great car...no its not worth $5000.00

He'd get a whole $1200 at a dealership and he knows it.

^^Yes, thank you. All data points are helpful. I showed some pics to my cousin (he used to own a modded sc400 and I think he is/was a moderator on these forums) and he said $2000 max (but I think that's a little low). His main criticism was a crappy re-upholstery job (leather was loose and somewhat "baloony") and some cracks in the door plastic (which I guess is common on this car).

Anybody do a good re-upholstery job recenly and/or buy a 2001 RX wood steering wheel? I'm curious how much these cost.

I'm leaning to offering somewhere betweet $2500 and $3500 with no hard feelings if he's unwilling to part for it at those prices.

Any thoughts???

$5000 is a good price round here. If I'm correct that comes to around $6000 AUS. Around here you will still be paying around $9000 average for a 94.
