Has anyone try putting on Toyota badges on their Supra Lex?

I don't see how fitting the JDM emblems is rice at all, sounds like a pretty shallow comment to me, that does not have anything to do with immitating a Civic. The fact that you added all the above to a Legend though, must make you an expert on rice, so maybe i'll defer to your judgement...

I will have to agree with you. I have a Soarer emblem to take up the space on the right side of the trunk. Nothing rice about it. Painted my calipers so I don't stare at rust. The clear tails are not too bad either.

How is JDM badging 'rice'? Rice is dressing your car up to look like something more impressive than it really is. Badging a Toyota Avalon as a Lexus GS430 is rice. Badging a Lexus SC as a Toyota Soarer is *not* rice, quite the contrary. It is more of an embracement of the car's heritage. After all, the original Soarer was JDM in orgin YEARS before they brought it over stateside as a Lexus. It's not like anyone here is trying to be gaudy and flashy with the badges. JDM is a 'style', and a unique one at that. Only those on the road who truly appreciate the car will recognize and realize the significance of the badging. Only those that are totally unconcerned with the upscale image of the L-badging are confident enough to replace the 'L' with a 'T'.

BTW, hardcore VW guys have been badging their cars Boras for years as well as fitting German-style license plates. Also clear sidemarkers used to be unique to European market cars only, but few would call a Jetta with clear markers 'riced-out'.

I can understand the logic of having Soarer emblems on a Lexus (even though it's not my cup of tea, it's apparently sigfinicant to some car enthusiasts).

However, what in the world does that dancing lion (Griffin) emblem signify? To me that's just a re-creation of the Peugeot emblem.

Sounds like another member that was on the boards a while ago...

Now, how can you say that fitting JDM/USDM badges onto a car that is ESSENTIALLY the same as rice?

Toyota Soarer 4.0GT/GT-L/GT-L Active = Lexus SC400 = UZZ30/UZZ31/UZZ32
Toyota Soarer 3.0GT/GT-L/GT-S/GT-G = Lexus SC300 = JZZ31
Toyota Soarer 2.5GT/GT-TL = The one that got away = JZZ30

Maybe with the exception of the 2.5GT, the SC400 had the 1UZFE under the bonnet, the SC300 had the 2JZGE under the bonnet... why would it be rice if it's exactly the same thing? So my car, being a JDM Toyota Soarer 2.5GT-TL, 'riced' because it has Lexus badges? Don't think so...

I posted on here way back when I bought my car almost 2 years ago. I don't understand some people on this board, they call all these cars RICE? I have almost every RICED out mod- ever invented on my car, according to what I have read here?.......................However, since the car will spin close to 1000RWHP, no one is calling it RICE?

Some people need to get a clue...................everyone is an individual, if someone wants stickers on their car, so be it! Those of you who don't like it ,don't need to look at it...............YOU build yours and let them build THEIRS!

haterz are motivaterz......DONT call people rice because they want to be different.... being different set trendz.and set you apart from the rest., now if everybody showed up at a car show looking like the same car that came off the showroom, then there wont be much of a show..
