Default Looking at a '95 or '96 SC300 5-speed

Hello,

I'm looking to purchase a '95 or '96 SC300 w/ manual transmission. I think it would be a fun "weekend" car. So, I would like to know if there is anything I should be looking for when testing the car. Thanks in advance for your input.

I'm not in a rush to get it, so I don't mind waiting to find what I want.

No, I haven't posted in quite a long time, not since I sold my '99 GS300. You can now call me StevenGTI.

I think it would be easier to look in the vehicle classifieds then post here. Also, I picked up my sc on cars.com so you should look there too.

Default A Clarification

Maybe I should clarify...

I would like to know the known issues for this car... From reading the forums, I've found the following:

1. Cloudy headlights
2. Broken trunk struts
3. Saggy doors
4. Dark gauges
5. Dark radio & HVAC controls
6. Cracking door trim

These seem to be mostly minor, except for the price to replace the gauges. Thankfully, I haven't heard any problems relating to the engine, transmission, clutch, suspension, etc...

Thanks.

Haha, I was soo confused, I had to look at the title like a million times to see what you were trying to imply. You've covered a lot of the issues w/ used SC's nothing to big except the dark gauges.

Okay, it's not ALL problems and it's meant to be on the funny side. But there is truth in just about everything that has been said. One I didn't even notice until I read this, which is a crack I had next to the A/C vent

Default Thanks

Thanks for the two links. I think this gives me all the information I need to make an informed purchase. I had never seen www.intellexual.net but I have read "You Know You're an SC Driver If...".
