Key locked in trunk
#17
I did this last summer Since my trunk has a little bit of play me and a couple ppl lifted the trunk and another used a screwdriver to free the trunk from the lock. It worked in less than a hour of messing with that lock

locksmith opened it in less then a minute. I called the dealer and had to get the keycode for keyless entry remote.. gave them my vin and I got the code. lock smith came, looked up the code, put it into his llittle box and the car unlocked. He really didn't give any detail to how it worked, but was surprised lexus gave me the keycode #. He said they only usually will give them to a locksmith. A minute of his time was $60. I guess that's better then the $200 the dealer wanted for another key.

You have to pull the carpet up on the driver side "threshhold" you look in the wiring harness under the carpet and you will find a black wire with silver dots, split the wire and jump it with a 12v the trunk will pop open!!

This happened to me a while back, except all my doors and the trunk lock button was pushed in to. I had a locksmith break into my car, disconnect the battery (because the stock alarm will go crazy if not disconnected), dissemble my keyhole assembly, and make a copy from the indentions given from the keyhole.

easy
If youve locked your keys in your trunk, but you managed to get into your car, the alarm system will automatically lock your trunk. What do you do? You pull up the carpet on the driver side door and look in the wire harness for a black wire with silver dots, you strip it and hook 12v to it and bam your trunk pops open, and now you can pretty much get into your car no prob without your spair so you save 300 bucks!! ahha no then you should count yourself lucky and get a spair like i did.

Just found this thread now. This just happened to me yesterday. Keys locked in trunk, doors are locked. Called AAA to send someone, they got in the car, but couldnt pop the trunk. Took out the back seats, back deck, and speakers, and reached in there and got it. took a while tho. Now i gotta cut some keys.

This wire can be accessed at the switch, just pull the cover where the key lock and swithches are and jump the connections with a screwdriver.
