go 18x8.5 +35 (225/30) and 18x9.5 +35 (265/30)

If you're main purpose is for autocross then get something light. I'd say refinish the volks and have them as your daily like you said. Get some cheap 16's or 17's and use the extra cash for some good *** tires on them. Pretty cheap possibilities:

MKIV Supra na wheels 16x8/16x9 +50 all around
MKIV Supra tt wheels 17x8/17x9.5 +50 or +38?
