i read something on here about this along time ago, i just dont remember anything about it, i know this isnt any help but maybe search with the terms wood grain or wood dash...idk, from what i remember though, its pretty simple
This problem appears to be an incompatibility reaction with some cleaners vs. the clearcoat used on this wood.
I have tried a variety of fixes for this. Compound works to some extent. If your keeping the car, I'd consider removing all the wood (get a manual if you don't have one) and getting it refinished.

im not sure what bmpc is, but im pretty sure going with 1jz if thats what that is in reference to and installing by myself. btw, where in FL are you located
I got the wood back to looking glossy again by using Meguires clearcoat bodyscrub to remove all the white haze and then following up with clear plastic polish.
