Default Apexi N1

Anybody use the Apexi N1 mufflers and had a customer exhaust made? How do they sound? How do they look? Would you do it again? Thanks.

Johnny:
I am running a new BLITZ Nur Spec rear sections on my SC400. This muffler system is really nice and has some features from both the manufacturing and use point of view that perhaps give it a small edge over other exhausts.

From the technical aspect it is very well made. Full stainless and flawless in execution of the welds and assembly. A piece of art.

The performance from a growl and rumble is very very impressive. I find myself listening to the stereo and CD less and less and just grovin' on the deep mellow exhaust note. Idle is a nice low rumble. Stand on the accelerator and the growl is quite Ferrari like indeed. At cruise speeds on the freeway, the system is quiet and does not invade the quiet of the SC400 cabin.

Now, the one thing that is real cool is Blitz sells an add in baffle for each muffler. If you insert these baffles into the muffler oraface, they totally change from Mr. Hyde to Dr. Jeckle and quiet right down to meek sounding standard mufflers.

The Blitz web site is at www.blitz-na.com

Their listing shows under Lexus that the system is for SC300 but it also fits the SC400. These are made in Japan I think. They also make a universal as well.

Just and option for you to consider.

I wish I had an N1, ticket **** and christmas shopping are keeping me from purchasing it...

I dunno why Hellasboy wants rid of his... He got the smaller 60mm ones... but there are also 80mm mufflers as well

I plan on getting a single one of those for right now...
N1s also have a silencer option... cheapest I can find them at is: http://www.rollhard.com

I think they are $189? normal list price is like $225 or something

Anyway, Apexi's quality imho is the BEST out of Japan... I've heard plenty of Supras with the N1 or GT-spec exhausts and they sound MEAN...

As for the V8s, I haven't heard one with N1s on it yet... But it should sound like a Ferrari once you get on it, and provided you actually get cat-back piping too... not just a muffler replacement

Ever heard a newer Cobra with an exhaust? They sound REALLY mean... thats what a 1uz-fe motor should sound like, but it should sound better due to its smaller size (smaller engines vs bigger engines of the same exhaust pulse always sound better )

thats why the RB26 sounds better than the 2jz, and why the 1jz sounds better than them... and why the RB20 sounds even better

Talking here's 1 goof!

I have a video of my N1 exhaust here...
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...threadid=22972

Some pics reside here...
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...threadid=23271

If i was to do it again, I would -
1st, not pay so much for them
2nd, get them installed differently.

I'm planning on selling them in January or February for a very discounted price , they are in excellent condition (I clean them at least once a week, and I haven't scraped anything).

Why am I getting rid of them? I'm going to need a cat-back exhaust. I'm in the process of purchasing headers for the 400 and the stock exhaust system just simply isn't going to cut it. Plus, when I saw this [picture below] exhaust... it screamed "mean" to me. It might be ricey... but i really dig it's look. i might change my mind, but for now, this exhaust is at the forefront

If you have any questions or requests of pics or videos (aaah, the stability of winxp ) feel free to ask.

Nope, I didn't know that site was selling headers. I'm getting my headers through a guy in Australia who manufactures them.

The Zees exhaust does look very nice. But isn't it expensive?
