Default FAQ plastic interior pieces / panel to black

changing the interior of my car again, sum may have seen my red suede dash interior i started, but my new vision wants just a clean black interior to match my black car. I have started and noticed something while attempting to paint my plastic peices under the dash black. Basically I discovered that they are painted grey, and acetone takes it off and turns it a permanent black, simple as that, 99% sure will work on tan to black, FAQ done.....

I guess a lil more in depth(if possible)

1. take peices out

2. use acetone and a scotch brite scruff pad to remove, but keep a towel and water to wipe off constantly as to keep the plastic from being eaten. Also after use of pad you will notice its hard to get out in the lines, so i used a 4 dollar electric toothbrush and it worked miracles

3. use cleaner

4. use proctectant or a leather conditioner to restore dryness

in the end its not that new looking, but good enough to go with, i figured if you decide to paint it still atleast when it gets scratched it wont be that noticeable because its black underneath.

Now you have a permenant scratch proof panel, I am most excited about this for the switches, because they are touched so much i dont want to paint them and have them look worn, Ill get to those next week prob...

please vote for weakest faq out there, heh, just wanted to put the info out though
