You are a couple hours away from beautiful mufflers
Yesterday, I purchase a value pack of medium grit sanding blocks/sponges from the local handware store with the intent of unbolting my stock mufflers, roughing them up, and painting them black. Within minutes, I realized that the stock mufflers were in great shape except that they were covered with crap. Two hours of dusty manual labor later, I had shiny mufflers and a tan. The idea of painting now became a questions mark.
This was a very dramatic effect for a $3 investment. Nevertheless, I am still on the fence: paint or no paint?
anyone have any tips to polish them up and make them shine to the a level closer to my wheel lips for example?
Have you seen those tips that are currently for sale in the classifieds section? Theyve been painted black with some engine enamel and they have the word "Soarer" on top. They look pretty schnazzy!

hahaha Blizzy is the one selling those. After polishing his mufflers, I think he wants to keep the silver look. If he had painted them black, I'm sure he'd have mounted those tips as well.

Any nice metal polish should really do the trick. You'd be surprised at the results you can get from those things. Personally, I like the Blue Magic Metal Polish (cream).

I was looking for tips on polishing metal...like a product with the intent of making metal more shiny.
Thanks for plugging my SOARER tips. I think they are schnazzy as well. I hope at least one other person finds them to be $35 worth of shnazz.
I just polished my chrome tips up with Mr Sheen... not sure if you guys have that or not, but it's just a spray on that you wipe off. You can get stuff like kitchen cleaners etc that you could use on chrome toasters and stuff.
