Ok, so I have a '98 SC300 but I want to switch it to manual. I don't know how ect works but I'm guessing it's for auto transmission only because it changes something in the auto transmission as you're driving. (I think) Am I wrong or do the pre '98 manual cars have ect too?

No, you're correct. It is "Electronic Controlled Trans" or something like that. It is auto only, and from what I experience is that it only changes your shifting points, nothing else.

im pretty sure its "electronically controlled throttle" and it is for wet weather driving to help stop wheel spin and the PWR button is to raise shift points(but im not sure). the manual transmission cars dont have them because you have to be able to control the throttle yourself when shifting and you also control shift points so no need for the PWR button
