Should I sell my SC and get a S2000?
So i've got a 97 Silver / Black MT SC300 (pics here), and i'm considering either trading it in, or selling it and getting a 2004 S2000 (they made several improvements that year)... I'm pretty sure i already know what most of you are going to say, but i was just wondering... I'm worried it will be a lot of fun at first, and then i'll get bored, and then regret selling ... anyone here ever driven a S2000? I'm probably going to test drive one tomorrow...

hmm... well the 2004 S2000 has a glass rear window instead of the original plastic which tended to yellow over time. was that why, or was it hard to see because it was small? Also, I'm 6'1" you think I'll have trouble? 2004 also adds 1" of shoulder room...

modding is an avenue i've considered, but power (or lack there of) isn't really why i'm considering the switch... i'll see how the test drive goes tomorrow...

I just traded my S2k back in December 2006 for a GS430. At first, the s2k was a fun car to drive. But after awhile, the rough ride and noisy cabin was unbearable and I had to get rid of it.
When it was raining hard outside, water would find it's way into the cabin and will leave me or my car all wet. The s2k is actually quieter with the top down than up.
If you could, then go with plan B. Pay off the SC first and then finance an s2k. I do miss my s2k especially during spring and summer, but I would not buy another s2k unless I had a more comfortable car to use as my daily driver.

the s2000 is super fun to drive compared to the sc. although i feel like the s2000 is small inside, i think the sc is kinda tight inside too. i'd do it in a heartbeat. i love driving my friend's s2000's. i dont think i've met a s2000 owner that didnt really like their car or regreted it. get the hardtop and youre golden.

Wow, your car is soo clean! First off, black interior w/ manual transmission is hard to find in an SC, but to have that in a silver spruce has to be one of the rarest exterior/interior color combo's for an SC! Don't sell! If you do though PM me!

I'd say keep the SC and find an 04+ (Ap2) that is in good condition at a good price. I used to have just the S2000 as my daily driver, but I found that having a second car to haul people/things around came in handy so I picked up the SC400.
If you're used to the comforts and luxury of the SC, I would definitely keep it and not give it up for the S2000. As fun as it may be, the S2000 may be a bit too impractical to use as your only car. Though I did have the S2000 for over 2 years as my only car when I had an 01 (Ap1), which was more stiff and harsh than my Ap2. It was liveable, but not the most ideal, there were days I wished I had a second car.

as far as s2k goes...i agree with everyone else... i drive my friends and it's great to drive... (plus the fact that my sc3 is auto...) kind of a tight fit...and a pretty noisy with the top up...but if ur looking for a joyride car its great. he's sick of his car though...
