Diffusors channel the "dirty airflow" from under the car and clean it up as it exits the rear. Simply it adds stability to the rear of the car.

Moreover the more covered the underbody/tray is the more the car will want to suck itself to the ground at higher speeds, which in turn gives the car more stability.

Universal diffusors like the one pictured on the other page for $200 are not molded to the under body contours of the car thus making them far less effective at what the overall goal of building it was for.

Simply put, you must shape a diffusor in the way that it catches the dirty air from under the car from specific zones of uneaven/unwanted airflow.

Hydro/Aero dynamics esentially. Its the same reason you see boats with hull channeling.

On to better things, I have been thinking of mocking up a diffusor for the SC/JZZ30 chassis since I got the car. Pretty simple to make them actually.

Oh well... I really can't complain, mine is a 97 after all

I remember seeing some rear end diffusers for Soarers on Yahoo auctions in Japan but can't remember if they are generic or actually moulded to the car.
