That 9/10 +32/+45 will actually fit with just a roll, I used to have 8.5/10.5 +38/+43 which is pretty damn close and all it needed was a roll in the rear only.

Yeah 10.5 up front with super high offset will probably hit the inner fender when turning, not to mention you're trying to clear BBK's.

They'll fit, I like those wheels too but you're going to have to coilover it for sure so that your car will sit pretty... KingPhilip has the low down on those PBM coilovers, he can tell you how much those run, IIRC they're less than $900 a set.

And no - NEVER cut or heat springs, this isn't the 90's

EDIT: um, on that link did you miss the part that says "This used part has been sold and is no longer available for purchase." ?
haha wow i suppose i did miss that part. never the less they do have other sets of great looking work wheels for the low. thanks for the input man, if i get a set like this i'll be ridding at stock height for a short while until i can afford a coilover setup and i'm just bored with the stock chrome wheels sunken in wheels.

I just figure my current setup is weak so I wanna try a more aggressive setup and i'm partial to 20's.

Now i'm just torn between what offsets to choose. +32/45 +20/25 +20/15.

What tire sizes would you recommend for each pair of offsets? I'm not too worried about the rubberband look considering it's also for clearance purposes.

Hey at least i'm not trying to do this..
Wow... that's like skinny jeans - no matter how you rock it, it's still stupid

Um... 9/10.5 widths, obviously the +32/45 is the least amount of fender work.+20/25 might just need a roll front/rear with a small pull in the rear.

The only issue you'll probably have to work with (which is the same for all stock body SC's) is the clearance above the front wheel, there's a big square beam up there that intrudes on clearance space.

Yeah you don't want that happening, take a hard enough hit and you'll just bend your wheels up front. How does the car sit right now? flush tops?

Flush tops in the rear, and a 1/4 inch rim-fender front(so I little bit of rubber is showing). I'll probably raise the rear some more to look equally spaced with the front. Then get an alignment for camber for the new wheels, once I see how it turns out I'll adjust it again for the end height product. Then alignment again... LOL

Hi,

Im looking to get some new XXR 521's in hyper silver

18x8.5 front and 18x10 in back.

However, both sizes only come in +25 offset.

my car is lowered on Supra TT struts and Tein springs, so my question is, will the 18x8.5 +25 offset fit the front wheels without any major fender or camber mods?

thank you in advance. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ok guys! I'm planning on ordering tires pretty soon here. I can't seem to find 245/35/18 Nanking Ultrasport NS 2.
So i'm wondering should I just go 255/35/18? 245/40/18? Or stick with 245/35/18 but just a different brand? And if a diff. brand which ones? Because the Nankings seem to stretch real nice. Any help would be awesome!!!

I'd say find a Nangkang dealer and have them order the size you want, don't compromise your plan due to availability and/or impatience

If your not too low you should be fine, if you are you are going to rub slightly nothing drastic.

Go for achillies they are cheap as well, 400 threadwear. I am running em. For my 18s they were $80 INSTALLED. Tells you how dirt cheap they are stretches well too

Can you add Achilles to that? I know I'm cheap, but for some reason I love how Achilles performs, I just hate that they're loud (compared to other name brands) and it wears faster than other tires.. But then again, you're paying way cheaper prices for great performing tires and on top of that once you stance you can't expect the tires to be usable for more than a couple of years...

I can't, for two reasons:

REASON #1 I have ZERO experience with them - meaning I've never had a set on my car nor have I ever driven on a set for a long time)

I usually recommend Falken FK-452 because their cost/performance is pretty damn good (the older Azenis ST-115's were awesome "bang for the buck" but they're discontinued). I try other tires and I always end up going back to these - plus they stretch nice too.

Toyo T1R's have a lot more grip compared to the Falkens but cost a lot little more and seem to only last 2/3 the mileage that I normally get on Falkens. They don't stretch as much as Falkens either.

Hankook Ventus V12's sit right in between the Falken and the Toyo. Stretch is similar to Falken too.

General Exclaim UHP are probably the lowest priced tire I'd recommend from experience; if you want cheap, this is it, but don't expect your car to perform like it looks =P

REASON #2. Not too confident after research - I looked them up after you first mentioned them to me, and the bulk of the positive comments were centered around their low cost; on the negative side I read a lot of comments about excessive road noise and bad wet traction. But that's what I've read.

so for those XXR wheels, i just picked up some 245/40/18 goodyear eagle gt tires for the front and some 255/40/18 pirelli p zero rosso tires for the back.

will this setup work without rolling the fenders on 18x8.5 +25 (f) and 18x10 +25 (r)
im trying to do as little fender mods as possible, and the fronts are a bit tricky with the screws for the fender lining. (if i do need to roll, any tips on how to do the front myself)

thank you again for all the help

Just wanted to share with you guys some of my calculations for those wanting to customize. Plus another set of eyes wouldnt hurt to double check.

I just recently picked up some 3-piece wheels. Widths were weak and offsets were unknown. I knew the widths I wanted, but didnt know the resulting offsets. I knew the specs which were 18x8.5 and 18x7.5 and 1 inch = 25.4 mm. There were also plenty of cross-sectional diagrams for reference, i.e.

To start, I needed the current offset. First I measured the backspacing. The backspacing on the 7.5s were 5 and 11/16 = 5.34375".

Rim width doesnt take into account the outer edge of the wheel. Measured that to be 0.5"

So, subtracting 0.5 from 5.34375 gave us 4.84375", which is half of the rim width plus the offset. Subtracting half the rim width (3.75") from 4.84375 gives us an offset of 1.09375" or 27.78 or +28mm.

Next we take a look at the barrel. On the 7.5" rim, the inner barrel is 6" and the outer lip is 1.5". I want to use the same inner barrel.

If I want a 5" lip, it would yield a width of 11". Since I'm using the same inner barrel, the backspacing is the same.
5.34375 - 0.5 - (11/2) = offset = -.65625" = -16.66 or -17mm
This yields:
5.0" lip gives a 11.0" rim width and -17 mm offset
4.5" lip gives a 10.5" rim width and -10 mm offset
4.0" lip gives a 10.0" rim width and -4 mm offset
3.75" lip gives a 9.75" rim width and a -1 mm offset
3.5" lip gives a 9.5" rim width and a +2 mm offset
2.5" lip gives a 8.5" rim width and a +15 mm offset

The 18x8.5s had a 6.5" inner barrel, a 2" lip, and a +30 offset

Following the same calculations from above yielded the following results:
4.0" lip gives a 10.5" rim width and +5 mm offset
3.75" lip gives a 10.25" rim width and a +8 mm offset
3.5" lip gives a 10" rim width and a +11 mm offset

Results will vary depending on the faces you have.

Those are some thick tires. I'm pretty sure you're going to rub. The way I did it is I found where i rubbed and i just heat gun and banged it with a hammer. But thats not the proper way. Proper way is to get your fenders rolled by someone or if you have the tool do it yourself.
