****Official Wheel & Tire Fitment Guide for SC300/SC400****

I about to mount some 225/40/18 on my 18x9.5 +20 wheels. I just saw some 205/40/17 on a 9" wide rime and thought that I can finally get some stretch going on in the rear and use some 225s. Wish me luck oh and if you don't like stretching tires oh well booty smell. To each his own.

My question is, has anyone ever used a 10 up front and a 275/40 on it? If so, how was ride/rubbing? Most of you guys seem to be stretching the tire in order to rock the car to the ground. But with my setup the car makes good power, and im more concerned with getting it to the ground, and staying with a more conservative fitment./height. Also, i have already used the wheels on the car with 275/245 and to me it just doesnt feel like a lexus anymore. Feels like some ole lowered honda, even with nice coilovers and all bushings. Thanks in advance

Hmmm, does a 265/35 sound more reasonable? I am content with a one or two finger gap height wise, but am more concerned with rubbing while turning. Im looking to run the biggest tire possible without major stretch. Fenders are rolled all the way around, and im looking to try and stay with a good all around fitment. Thanks for the reply webstarr, i can easily return my fronts for a smaller size.

I got to see the pics of the 295's on the rear also.
Josh are you 1/4 mile drag racing or street drifting/gripping? I would think that the 275's would slow your car down for the 1/4 mile (correct me if I'm mistaken) and wouldn't your turning be slower (slugish) with the 275's for drifting? I don't think you can offset it with a negative camber, it would be too low and rub at every turn.
It would look beefy though! That's VIP!

Thanks boys
This is a straight line car, and should see mid-low 10sec passes on the radials. Let me be the first to say, I HATE TIRES lol. I havent put the rears on the car yet, but they were originally setup with 275/40's and rode well, so im thinking the 295's shouldnt have too many issues on there. It is one hell of a tire though. As far as the front, I just want a tire that will fit, be comfy, and still turn. Im starting to miss my 9's with a nice 245 on em.
Just so you guys know, this is workaholics old car, and he was using 245/275 and had it sitting on the gorund. I have since raised the car(not too much), and wanted a good fitment for the wheel. I am going to find a comprimise for the front, but no matter what, those 295's will be rolling on the back. Im gonna test fit my gtc's 18X10 +35 with a 275/40 on the front today, to check it out. Im concerned with sidewall, but dont wanna use a dramatically stretched tire to achieve this. maybe a 265/40?
I can make big power with these cars all day, tear em to a bare shell, put em back together etc...but have no idea what works when it comes to wheel/tire! Thanks again, and I will keep you guys posted on this setup, which I will hopefully make work. Its nice to know this forum isnt filled with a bunch of talkers who dont know what they are talking about, keep it up fellas.
Webstarr, you reccomended a 255/40, would this be a major stretch for a 10in wheel? Also, where in pa are you, our shop is right on the de/pa border, and something tells me youd be right at home there.

Let us know how the 275 goes. Like if you can turn it to full lock and not rub under compression. Why do you need giant tires on the front if you are going for straight line?
If the 245's that workaholic had did not rub I would just stick with those. If you really want a 255, I'd go with a tire that is better for fender clearance like Falken FK451, FK452 or ST115.

guys i need some reassurance here.... 255/35/19 on a 19x10.5 rim...
i tried 265/30 and it still wouldn't clear (unless i did a minor pull) so i'm going to try for a 255/35 stretch using avon tech m500 tires... i've heard nothing about good things about this not-so-popular tire so i guess we'll see.
not too many people make matching tires in that particular size (i'm running 235/35/19 up front

I have 245 on a 10.5 rim, it is on my front rim and I haven't had any problems whatsoever. I'm running Toyo T1-S. Now they have the T1-R.

But, it's a good idea to have them rolled anyways for future purposes when you decide to go crazier
