...but as far as the pureness of styling, the SCx00 is still looking down on the competition from high above. Just MHO.

Def... the interior of the SC400 cannot compare to the SC430, and when the SC was coined as the best car, there werent many other cars around TRUE!!! But since then, no other car has been awarded nicest interior, etc... not even the S600!!! NOTHING, NADA, so that does say something... There are definatly nicer cars than the SC, but it means something when there is no longer a label that states the car might simply be the best.

SC400 in August Car and Driver issue
Kind of just pays a tribute to our car.. On the back page "Franz Kafka's Garage" he answers questions and has reader sightings. Well, one of the questions is, how close has a car come to a perfect score in a comparison test? and he replied: We've never had a test car arrive at our office with Jessica Biel in the passenger seat, so perfection has yet to be reached. Be assured were hard to please. We once said that the Lexus SC400 was "luxocoupe perfection-possibly the best car on the planet," but gave it just 97 points out of 100. Since we switched over to our current.......then went on to say the closest besides that was the f430 which got 226 out of 240.

It does make me feel quite good driving one of the best car on the planet.
They definitely know a good car when they see one
. That's pretty cool the 1st Gen SC is still being talked and written about after all this time. The SC is a classic! I remember being in Media Play all the time in the '90s reading all the car magazines and the SC 300/400 would always be on all the Best Car Lists.

When I tell people my SC400 is a 1992 model with 195,000 miles on the odo, they cannot believe it. That is what makes the SC400/300 styling so unique. It is truly a timeless design!
In my opinion, the SC430 looks very feminine compared to the SC400/300's very luxurious masculine lines and in my opinion, Lexus ruined the SC with the drastic design style.
I love my SC!
