Exclamation Driver Side Window Problem

I've tried searching for DIY but is says "No entries found" So 1st of all the search is messed up because there are plenty of DIY's in this entire forum.

OK:

My Driver Side window switch does not work. I bought a new one thinking it was the switch, it still does not work. The locks and mirror switches work, and the pass. side switch works perfect but the 2 window switches on my driver side door do not function. I'm guessing it's got to be the wiring so, Is there anything I can do to find out how to re-wire it or actually diagnose where it is that it is not working?

This isn't by chance your problem eh?

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sc-1st-gen-1992-2000/95720-window-regulator-fix-for-sc-models.html

This link is a DIY for fixing your window regulator, which is probably what your problem is... so hit it up.

Hmm so the passenger window goes up with the switch on the passenger door, but not the master switch? Sounds like it could be as simple as a fuse if you haven't checked that already..

Sorry for the long delay. I dont' think it's the regulater, because when I press either switch it does'nt even make a sound like a motor operating or anything like that. As a I said, neither window can be operated by the master switch. NEITHER. Umm but i don't know if it's a fuse either, but let me check for the fuse problem, and thanks for the DIY regulater SCpwner, mirulana and for the fuse suggestion MCG33. Any fuse in particular? like what it's labeled as? I.E. Electric A, Window Operations, etc.?

Default I have the same issue

My driver side switch has the same problem, but I pull up really hard, Then It works. I have to pull up so hard that when someone else try's to do it they cant even get it up. I guess there just not used to pulling that hard on a window switch!

Is this problem a result of slamming the door too hard?
We all know our doors are heavy as hell and sometimes, people slam it way too hard b/c it doesn't close easily and it breaks the regulator(?) inside..

Default window problem

If neither window works from the drivers door but the pass window works from the pass door, your problem is electrical and doesn't involve the regulator. You need a schematic and a volt/ohm meter (VOM) and the switch assembly has to be accessable...to start. I think you will find that the harness has a bad plug connection. If you aren't familiar with the operation of a VOM you are sunk and need tech help. Don't waste your time and risk injecting another problem. Kenny Rogers (ie. know when to hold'em and know when to fold'em)

Good luck,

John

Ok, well that sounds better than most reply's I was emailed with somewhere else. John do you have experience in the same issue or if possible do you know how I can find the connection[s] or possible points of interest in the harness? Thanks everyone for your input and support!
