i just did this on wednsday. i love it so far cause it makes the car look a million times better. anyways, if she has the 97 just unhook the harness and its plug ad play. the lights will blink fast but u can buy the module to help that. mine directly pluged in.the lights are kind of difficult to get in but they DO fit dontworry you dont have to drill anything like people say. BTW i bought them from carson toyota for 383 shipped to my door. they came with the harness so i dont know if that has anything to do with a different harness or if there is a different one from dealership to dewalership which i doubt.

when you take the lights out of your moms car, unplug the wire harness from where it connects to the body harness on the inside of the rear body panel. Take that entire thing bulbs and all to your car. Remove your tail light and disconnect the harness on your tail light bulbs and all from the same spot, then plug in the 1997 tail and connect the harness.

I don't know about putting 1994 tails into a 1997, nobody has ever downgraded tails so I cant tell if there will be any issues with that or not.

I will say that you are worng on the drilling part. I put mine on 3weeks ago and had to file out the holes so that the studs on the 97s fit.

the way i was thinking about doing it was snipping each wire... labeling them.. and then re-wiring each... but they are VERY differant so i would have to ie into one wire twice ect...

so your saying that i can just unplug my 94 harness and plug it into the 97 and vise versa and it will work?

Take out your lights and if you follow the harness past that little rubber boot that leads into the trunk u will see a connection there (pull the rubber boot out).... the connection there (inside that compartment) is the same from 92-00... unplug it from there install ur moms 97 lights and reinstall that rubber boot pop in the tails and ur done...

Oh and for the last time… YOU DO NOT NEED TO CUT, FILE, SHAVE, TRIM ANYTHING TO GET THE TAILS TO FIT….. with a little finesse it will pop right in… what I use to do is unscrew the three screws which hold the bumper on between the tail lights and that made it much easier to install the lights…

Yes.

Simple as that. You're 1994 will hyperblink and the tail light failure light in the dash will illuminate, but all the bulbs will work as they should. I have no idea what will happen in your 1997 with the 1994 tails, but theoretically it should all be kosher tho.

Its weird how some SCs have to do this extra step to get the lights in. I havent done it my self yet but I do plan on it. A friend of mine who did it to his SC had to do file out the holes also. I wonder if certain people encounter this with a certain year SC?
