1997 tail light help
im a lil confused... can i directly stick the 1997 tails on my 1995 car with the 1995 bumper? and also is there a diy? cause i read somewhere here the light on the dash would stay on... how would i get that to turn off the legit way(without cutting a wire)...

it will take some healthy coersion, but the 97 tail studs will make it safely into the factory holes on your 95 rear end. The center section where the "SC400" is located on your rear bumper is fractions of an inch wider than the 97+ rear bumper in that same section. This is the reason for the tight fit.
The installation involves you getting behind your factory carpet, unbolting the four 10mm nuts per side, and sliding the lights out, being sure to unclip the tail light wiring harness from the car. It is entirely intuitive (Just make sure you have the 97+ harness with your tails as the bulb type, number, and location differ from 95 to 97).
When I had 97+ tails on my 96, I had no hyperblink. I did have the dash warning light. The "Tail light failure module" from a 97+ vehicle is required to prevent the dash warning light (or the hyperblink should you encounter it). These are often for sale on the classifieds of this very forum for $70-$100. The module runs over $200 from the dealer.

the tail failure module is the non-urgent piece of the puzzle. not having this will only result in a dash warning light (or perhaps a hyperblink). However, this will not affect the functionality of the bulbs in the tails.
