making use of the built-in cell phone system with a modern phone
Like many SC400 owners, I have one those cool internal built in cell phone systems, which is basically a hands free kit connected to a 10 year old Motorola moster phone.
I have one of those modern Nokia 8200's, and woudl like to use it with my car. Does any one know of a way to do this? Are there custom adapters that map the existing adaptor to my phone, or can I build one myself?
It would reall suck to have to get a whole separate phone number and use the motorola built in....
thanks,
Floyd

toss it
I'd give up on the old monster. With your new kit, you can mount your tiny phone just about anywhere and still get great sound. If you want to mute and play through the exisisting stereo, you will need a pro, but then you may be able to use the old stuff.

That would be such a shame though, after all, the built in system runs through the stereo and has wheel mounted buttons, there should be a way to do it.
Perhaps I should just hire local engineering student, I am hoping its simply a matter of mapping the correct inputs to each other, after all, the 'built in' part of the car phone system is basically just a hands free kit right?

ps - I went to your site and noticed that heart wrenching wrecked SC had OEM chrome wheels. Were the wheels also damaged? If not, would love to buy them off you.
