Question Almost at the Century mark....

My 92 SC3 has almost hit the 100,000 mile club. It has something like 99,800 miles on it. I am taking it to the Lexus dealership tom. to get its oil changed (the light started flashing on fri.) and I was wondering if i should ask them to look at anything else (alternator, belts, etc.) that might almost be about to go bad (eventhough i have maintained this car perfectly). Also, I f they decide to go ahead and do the 100,000 mile service (if there i sone...i haven't checked yet) should i let them or wait till 100,000 miles? (i dont know why it would make a diff. though). Last question, eventhough my SC drives like new, should i keep saving money for engine performance mods, or should i look into making this a show car instead? I cant think of not being able to race this car, but i dont want to put alot of money into an engine that cant take it (due to age). I know that the I6 2JZ-GE is one of the most reliable engines in the world but i just want opinions.

Most guys that I know that want a race motor but don't have that major cash flow needed build up a second motor, then put it in to avoid down time. Example, get a 2jz-ge from ebay or some company and a tranny with quite a few miles on it. Put a strong bottom end on the motor, have the head redone, that sort of thing. Most of the cost of engine building for race cars is the labor, from what I have seen. At least it is on my Warrior. Having the part off and ready to be done should lower the cost somewhat. Sent your tranny to a good shop to have it worked to your specs, while you clean up your engine bay (ie paiting, re-routing wire, that sort of thing. I looked into putting a LT1 and a T-56 in my project 67 firebird, and he said a custom wiring harness would run around 600. Looking at your list of cars, I would switch one to full race, with luxury look.
