Rotary 20B Powered Soarer!

I'm drowning in Haterade!
So nice of Arizona and Mitsuguy to show a total their lack of logic and common sense, also perpetuating the need to make vague opinionated statements as stamp them as fact.
How many fully built/tuned 20B's have you to boys made?
How many fully built/tuned 20B's have you seen race?
Lets compare # of moving parts, lbs of boost/rwhp #'s and the overall simplicity of the 2 engines before passing judgement.
Hows a 2.0l hang with a 3.0l? Big disadvantage, yet overcomes every obstacle.
How much does it hurt when you wake up every morning bitter and malinformed?

2 with T-88s and 1 with stock twins.
You are right on less moving parts, less weight etc.....!
Not that many cars would be able to beat up on FD with the big single turbos. if it's running right. My friend is in his third engine.
I have been Steve K. tunning several them.
It's not the moving parts, it's the APEX seals that would go bad due to the high temp. Even 3mm seals go bad.
It is totally cool rare swap but imagine what he could achieved by 2JZ-GTE swap with single T.

I thought the entire argument for the rotary engine as a revolutionizing force in the auto industry was because it only used 10 times the parts and was thusly significantly more reliable.
My dad told me the story of the Mazda salesman trying to get him into a rotary during the late 70's. That is all I am going by.
ps. He bought a Dodge Omni. He was probably not interested in blowing apex seals.

^ So he chose to bend valves instead?
Good point, why educate yourself on something different, when you can blend in with mediocrity, and be like that guy...and that guy, oh and those over there!

Well, rotary is rotary so it would melt seals unless it has the mojo seals....
There is an old saying, rotary engines would either make it fall in love with you or break your heart!
I am glad I do not have to make that choice.
Furthermore, I do not think there would be a big performance difference between blown up 20B and2JZ-GTE unless you are going 160+ MPH. You have to stick rubbers on the pavement first....

The swap of menton looks clean. I am sure that will the proper mods, it would really light up the street or track. I respect the willingness to be different.
Just making a comment about what I did know about rotary engines...

Thats cool, until it blows its apex seals....

here is my take on the whole rotary thing seeing as how i have been around a lot of them in my import years. I find that no matter how built the damn things are a meltdown is inevitable..... BUT and this is a HUGE but if you immediately stop after a seal goes and tear down the motor its a damn easy fix. Its probly one of the easiest engines I have ever completely torn apart and put back together. That install in the sc would be a dream. You could probly have the motor out/ installed/ and back in like a day....if you knew what you were doing

Cmon, you mean to tell me your not impressed with the work and engineering that went into doing that?
I'll be the first person to argue about the positives vs the negatives of rotary engines. But when I see this, I'm in awe of the work.
Would I do it...no.
Would I shoe-horn a 2JZ into a FD/RX7....Absofugginlutely!!!!!
