A major killer on these tails is that it has the line split down the middle from left to right.
I just don't think it flows too well with the cars body. I think the best looking tails are the pre 97 tails. Those in my opinion compliment the body the best.

Maybe if you tint the covers a dark black, it might look better.

how would you guys suggest tinting them black without opening them up, i tinted my last taillights from the outside and after a few weeks of rain and stuff it started to flake off, would clearcoating it afterwards help this?

this is precisely why clear coat was created.

Go to your local hardware mega mart, and ask the paint person what they would use on plastic that needs to be glossy and protected for all environmental conditions short of a tsunami. I am sure they will direct you to the proper can of clear coat for the job.

No, dont do that . . . paint them red.
I honestly think all black tinted tail lights on sc's are ugly.

you may be able to find it at a hobby shop, large automotive shop, or a hardware store. the surest way is the internet. I would query ebay for "red tint spray" and expect to find what I am looking for.

Black on top & Red on bottom?
Thats funky, but hey let me see if i can photoshop something.

***Edit***
This looks way better, right???
I think so, check it out. What i think would look better is replacing the white w/ the red.
