I enlarged the opening a few mm per side, so i would own the paint. then i just grinded down 1/4 of an inch per side of the marker and it fits. i secured with double sided tape, but new holes for the pegs can be drilled.

VQ30DEK, going in for a full rebuild, good eye

yeah, i noticed it was a 2000-2001 because of the variable intake manifold sitting on the side, and only 2000's have the EGR on the rear exhaust manifold.

I wouldn't rebuild a vq, i'd just buy another one. I bought one myself for 300 bucks, 50k on it, and I payed 650 shipped for my 03 vq35de with 40k on it.

Well he wanted the 00VI manifold. He got the motor for what the 00VI would of costed. So hes slapping it on his VQ30DE and going to putz around with the new motor.

They look nice, Is there a little mismatch in the hole? It looks like they need to curve a little or be pushed out flush. Otherwise they look at home on the car. Nice job!

They look very nice. Like if they came like that from the factory. Im not much of a clear sidemarker fan but those look pretty good.

has anyone tried to take the clear lens off the gs marker and shape it to the OEM housing? then just use silicone to seal them together? this would solve the mounting issue

those look great, redphoenix. i think i looked at this thread before I did mine to get some info and advice. i ended up power sawing/sanding the front side of some GS/IS clear sidemarkers. i was finally happy with it after putting some 3M double-sided tape behind the front side because it kept coming out a little because the screw couldn't be used.
