Default should i sell my sc for a range rover?

well I wanted ppls opinion on this subject. I'm 17 and I’ve been wanting a suv for a while so I figured sell the sc and raise a few more to get a 01 range rover.

Why to get the range rover: it is a range rover so its pretty sweet, I can haul ppl around way easier, I have more trunk space, and I can go off-roading.

why to keep the sc: it more sporty, I can have fun on the roads with it, id prolly just miss this car in general lol.

So ppl if you could give your honest opinion so I can make this decision

I'm sure a lot of ppl on this site will say stick with the lex. But I am willing to bet that ppl on a range rover site would say go with the rover....hmmm

I say stick with your sc.

well it all depends on your needs. Both are good cars, although I hear from a lot of people that Range rovers are not smart to buy, leasing them is ok, because they can be very problematic. Anyways both cars are completely different. So I would ask:

Do you need an SUV for its size? or Do you wanna get it just for the cool factor of being Range Rover?

I think there is a better cool factor for the Lexus. I think range rovers are ugly and I have heard nothing good about them. I live in an Offroad/street racing town, and all the dune runners and mud junkies are Ford/Chevy or Toyota fans. The only large SUV out here you see doing anything is an FJ Cruiser.

I like range rovers, but for an 01. I'd say keep the SC.

Keep the Lexus.. Spend some time googling "01 Range Rover Reliability".

That search should make up your mind for you. The first time your Rover goes into "Limp Home" mode you will be wishing you kept your Lexus.

Here, perhaps this will help..
This is the 2004 VDS for cars made in 2001. It tests the dependability of 2001 vehicles (3 years old).

Hey man, I worked for Land Rover for quite sometime and I gotta say that the Land Rovers/Range Rovers are some of the biggest pieces of crap I have ever driven. The P38 body style(the model/year you're looking at) is a disaster of a design, all of the techs will agree(same with the new body style as well). You're much better off sticking to a Toyota product if you wanna off-road, or just keep the Lex! I wouldn't even consider a Land Rover product until you're quite a bit older and get a stable job so that you can afford the monthly repairs. I am not just being partial to Lexus, one of my best friends has a 2003 Range Rover HSE(new style and supposed to be the best of all the Range Rover years) and has had nothing but problems with it... He's a certified Lamborghini tech and former Land Rover tech and he even gave up on the Rover due to its never-ending amount of issues. Good luck on your choice!

Pity to hear about the new Rover's being troublesome, the old ones used to be pretty good.

Bah... just get an old school 4Runner

seriously, hauling people around gets tired.. fast. next thing you know youll have tom asking you for a ride to his high school play and patty to get her nails done, youll be a choeffer (sp?).. its one of the reasons I took the rear seats out of my sc, i hated how that looked so now i just just use the excuse of my car being too low. the range rover i see every day, what do you need that big of a car for, the sc is hot sh:t

I wouldn't touch a Range Rover. After taking a trip one day over to their service department and looking at all the horror stories.
