did you say m3 with over 100k on it,
i hope you have alot of money in the bank or are a bovarian grease monkey
get the Lex. a m3 is awesome to rag on, but a jz engine is limitless/priceless.

I currently own a highly modified 95 m3, and an automatic toyota soarer w/1jz. For a daily the soarer is MUCH better. Much more reliable, much more comfortable, better looking, cheaper to maintain, better on gas, and believe it or not, slightly quicker in a straight line. It pretty much trumps the m3 in every category except handling and braking, mind you every suspension piece has been upgraded on the m3 and it has huge stoptech brakes on it. Only thing that sucks about the soarer is the steering wheel is on the right side and drive thru's are a pain in the a**. I'm going to sell the m3, probably never buy another bmw again unless it's brand new with a warranty. Almost every week something goes wrong and at this point almost everything has been replaced. Just not worth it in my opinion, but it's really up to you and your driving style. Most bmw owners think they're the best cars in the world and would laugh at you for even considering a lexus. Actually the type of people that drive them is another reason I don't like that car lol.

350hp+daily driver...SC swapped. JZ engine is made for exactly that.

Eurotuner+Track Beast...M3 slightly modded. 3.0-liter 24-valve DOHC I6 is a DAMM good place to start.

For ME, I'm trying to live the broke luxury life. I drive an SC but it's almost always on E, I can barely make rent, but I drive a Lexus. A BMW is a step up, your on your way to getting a Porsche when your 50. An SC is a step away getting a NSX. Porshe vs. NSX...Gimme the Acura.

This thread has lost sense of itself. Which is the best car for his specifications? Swapped SC. Do it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gVjk9fMEkdo <----You tell me raceonusa.

i know this is a older thread thats been started up again, but i figured id put my 2 cents in because i was deciding between a e36m3 and a sc with a jz swap.

but the higher mileage,or just older m3s started to scare me with pricey parts.
basically all of the bushings will need to be replaced.
then theres also the problem of mis shifting that they call moneyshifting.the tranny bushing wear out, plus the tranny isnt gated.so( i beleive i counted around 150 people on bimmerforums who did this )you mis shift and your valves and pistons start making out.in the end costing you more money and time.
plus the bimmer people do believe there car is the greatest automobile ever.
i was e46fanatics on someone mentioned putting in a 2jz into a bmw.and everyone started snickering about how inferia a 2j is to a m3 motor.

well, that is a bit ignorant. I suppose I don't have the full appreciation for the M3 engine having never fully researching the potential, but I definitely feel one would be hard pressed for to find a 3L that -unopened- can flow efficiently and stand up to 600-700rwhp without blinking an eye.
