Default Black Wood...

Eh I don't have an SC anymore but you all have woodgrain, has anyone been able to black out the woodgrain to make it like black wood? Not black like straight black, but black where you can still see the grain so it looks like wood, just black instead. What would you guys suggest using?

stain. its real wood under there, so you might try sanding all the crap off of it then using a black stain, then polyurethane over that. might work, might not. but, its actually wood so i'm sure any sort of stain would work.

I think that would be sweet, my MDX has a dark wood in it. I have some extra dash pieces, maybe I will experiment....

there is also "if you want to do the cheap and easy way" (Not Recommended) but UV Tint it, there are plenty of Tints out there at local stores and even the internet, but just make sure you do it the right way. Here is a link to the 350z Wiki Forums on how a guy did it i have copied him with one of my previous cars and it turned out pretty well. http://www.350z-tech.com/zwiki/How_to_Smoke_Taillights

From what I hear there's a lot of crap on it before you get to the wood.

i tried this and sanded threw the wood down to the metal layer. it is very time consuming. you can go threw the wood and do polished aluminum lol.

I just purchased an extra set of interior trim panels to paint. I was originally going to go with black but now I'm thinking of that nightshade idea..
