Choice of emblems after twin turbo swap 1jzgte/2jzgte
If have searched a bit on this (why are all these emblem polls back at the top? ) but I was curious how CL members feel about emblems after doing the swap.
If you've got an sc300 (3.0L 2JZ-GE Inline 6) or sc400 (4.0L 1UZ-FE V8) BEFORE the swap, the emblems are not completely accurate when the swap is done.
Sure, it's the same model, etc. but the engine is a 2.5, not a 3.0 or 4.0. I was considering switching emblems. I really like the Lexus emblems vs. the Toyota, but the car is closer to a soarer than it is a 300 or 400 (other than the right-hand drive of course ; ).
I am NOT a fan of Lexus AND Soarer emblems since there was never a Lexus Soarer, but this is a bit of a hybrid Toyota/Lexus marriage so maybe it's OK.
Let the poll speak for itself.

This is the closest thing I found that would really go well, but......
I would like something that was a bit stronger. This is plastic.
I remember seeing custom emblems / badges that were actual metal.
Otherwise there is the generic "Turbo" emblem
But the script looks more fit for a Porsche even though I think a similar badge is found on Supra's & Celica's.
There is also this one; but as you can see it is for the plastic grill piece from a Supra, so it would have to be removed and stuck on with adhesive and the material also looks like cheap crap.

Badging is 100% owner. It's basically what you want other people to think about your car...I'd do no badging. You shouldn't have to have lexus/soarer on your car, people who know what it is, know what it is. And you shouldn't have to have a turbo badge, people who know what a turbo sounds like don't need to see a badge...my 2 cents.

i say completely shaved, in the city I live in so many people ask me what kind of car it is, when I try to explain I realize that they dont even know its a Lexus...no badges, no emblems...just the sound of the engine.

I think it would be pretty nifty to leave all the lexus emblems, and just change the SC300 one to say "SC250", and maybe add a Biturbo badge from a mercedes. Although I'm not sure how good the Biturbo one would look... script wouldn't match at all. I'm sure someone could make something =)

If someone was just familiar with stock, they would assume a 250 is inferior to a 300 or 400 until you hit the gas, deceitful sleeper as long as you didn't have the "turbo" emblem to give it away.
I'm surprised the votes are as even as they are.
