Default ac reset??

Recently my ac compressor went bad so I installed a new one. When the ac compressor was bad whenever I turn the ac on the ac botton will blink. Now I have it fixed do I need to reset the ac to fix the blinking problem? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure... what was fixed?

the compressor was replaced and then what? the system was recharged?

the blink should go away when the system is ready to operate properly...

The system was recharged. I have the compresor hook up to a switch inside the car because I have JDM ECU so there is no provision in the JDM ECU for the ac system. The was done before the ac compressor was replaced.

um, a switch to turn the compressor on and off?

how do you know when head pressure gets too high?

I would figure out a workaround to get it to work properly... I'd bet money that's why the a/c compressor took a dump... you also probably damaged the pressure sensor and it probably doesn't respond correctly anymore...

there are lots of things you need to test before this thing is going to work properly... as well as finding out the proper wiring... the a/c head unit has an output to turn the compressor clutch on, why not just wire it properly????

The ac works, it blows cold and nice. It is just the ac light is blinking I guess I can just ingore it. The reason why I have the compressor hook up to a switch is because there is no provision in the JDM ECU for the US spec sc300.

there is no reset - you fix the issue, and it works... evidently something is broken and you are ignoring / bypassing it...

fine by me, you'll just keep popping compressors because you have no way to tell what the head pressure on the system is, and compressors don't like to go much over what they are rated for for any amount of time really...

are you saying that the JDM cars don't have a/c? just because it doesn't work with the stock wiring doesn't mean it's not possible... if a jdm car has a/c, then the ecu has output for it somehow someway...

you can figure it out, and possibly find out why your climate control isn't working right, or you can half *** it like you have been doing and keep buying compressors... search the forums, I posted directions for pulling diagnostic codes from the a/c control unit that will tell you what it sees as a problem...

Thank you for your advise. The reason why the compressor went bad was one of my intercooler pipe came lose and it the front of the compressor mess up the front of the compressor. The JDM ECU has different provision than the US spec ECU as far as for the AC control. The only way I can make it work is by install the VPC and a US spec ECU which I really don't want to spend that much money for that. AC is working fine with just a blinking ac light.

I fail to see what a intake translator has to do with the a/c compressor...

do you have any direct links to this, maybe I can take a look and solve it...

my not-so-tech word for something that counts airflow and interprets it in an output the factory ecu can understand...

no...

most stock lexus' are mass air flow meter... the VPC converts it to speed density and gets rid of the restriction from the MAS...

Thus the reason I don't see why it would have anything to do with the a/c working or not - thats all it does....
