Honestly, to me, an SC300 is just a 2door version of a GS300. Same motor, same tranny, same everything. GS has 100 extra lbs and 2 extra doors + a usable bench rear seat + passthrough. A SC has 100 less lbs + 2 dog seats and no passthrough.

In my experience, GS's go for a bit more than its SC counterpart. Most likely because it is the more sensible decision. I may get beheaded for saying this but, I believe if you are going to get an auto, get the GS hands down. I opted for my SC only because it fit my criterion (strong motor, rear drive, 5 spd manua, reliablel).

 

The GS is a bit more bland also.

 

That could be a good thing, I have a black sc300 with tinted windows. I get eyeballed and followed by COP A LOT! I can see how an SC looks fast, but it ain't that in stock form!

 

you're right, the SC and GS is pretty much the same Internally (meaning- motor/tranny etc). so in that aspect, i would much rather drive a roomier sedan than a sportier 2 door.

now if the sportier 2 door car (SC) was a bit faster or had some bells and whistles apart from the GS that would be another story.

i'm not hating on the SC at all (ive had 3!) i got mine because i had planned to build it as a drag car. i didn't want to hack up a sedan for that.. lol

you might find my tastes and opinions strange. but if it makes you SC lovers feel any better. i've had a mk4 supra for 6 years and i would prefer the SC over the supra
