Long story short, ran two times First time was a 16.9@83.46 and second time was 16.4@85.72. It was also my 3rd time ever launching the car, so the first time i left at about 2000, and 2nd time, 3200. I know for a fact if i can get my launch down pat i can go at LEAST low 16/high 15s.

Damn drag racing is addicting...

Any ideas on how i can improve my launch/times?

launch higher.... and get better tires.. regular street tires are no good on the track .. i have a 5spd sc300 with 200k miles and at the time was completely stock with some minor problems and i ran a 15.3 i launch at 4000rpm or higher with some nitto NTO1`s... my goal is to run a mid 14 or 13 with no turbo or nitrous.. just keep tracking your car and you will find the launching point your most comfortable with! ... good luck!

Have you ran your car again since you got the intake and exhaust?

If you have your ET and MPH I'll throw you up on the fastest SC300 list I've got going.

Baaaaaaaad idea. Neutral dropping will KILL the trans. Powerbrake the autos, foot on brake and other on gas. Release brake, and go.

I go to e-town pretty frequently, and I'll start racing my SC when I get it running. Where in NJ are you? it would be cool to go to the track with another SC owner.

I see, so get a pair of decent radials, and find the sweet spot for launching. Thanks!

Well, after talking smack, I went to the track to day decided to run it. Wanted and before and after time, ..before I do the engine swap. I only ran it once, and I lauched at about 4000. Heres the times:

r/t ... .308
60' ... 2.234
330 .. 6.612
1/8 ... 10.204
mph .. 68.39
1000 .. 13.294
1/4 ... 15.896
mph .. 86.17

This is in a stock '92 5spd. with 185K original miles, and 18x10" HEAVY Work wheels on the rear. I think I could have lauched A LITTLE harder. Maybe could have done a few tenths less with a better launch, lighter wheels, empty out the trunk, ect..

235/40/18 Nankang cheapies. I let off the clutch, just like I would during normal driving. Maybe, a little quicker, ...if any.

ill look for it.. but ... i just got a new HKS TI - Carbon.. just one.. with race headers and custom piping.. so im basically running with no resonators or any cats... havent tracked the car yet since those mods. usually when i race now from 1st to 2nd i swerve because of the torque and from 2nd to 3rd i chirp.. .. but i will track the car next week .. ill let you know what i get.
