Is it a clean title? check VIN too. I just got my sc4 last month for 4300 and so far been happy with it. That is a good price. Check maintenance records, best way to find out if it's been neglected or treated properly. timing belt, water pump, major tune up should've been done around 90k-110k. Oh, check power steering for leaks too.

That is a really good deal with the details you gave. My brother and I have bought 2 sc's and both had the same infamous problem all SC's seem to have: power steering pump replacement. You can do it yourself (6-8 hours labor - if you do everything right) or get it replaced for about $1000. Ask him if he has replaced it before. If so, all the better. Good luck with the purchase.
Maybe a pre-purchase inspection is in order if you are uneasy?

IF it's a clear title - that's a pretty good deal.
You can expect to do some maintenance. That is probably why it's priced where it is. The seller probably knows it's due for maintenance and would rather sell than pay for it himself.
Clear title=go for it
