Just rear ended someone and need input! Would a OEM black carbon fiber hood look good on the red SC with 97+ bumper. The car is dropped with chrome supra wheels and black front mount intercooler (obviously its turboed for ayone thinking i"m ricing out my car) The last thing I want is for the car to look like a riced out honda. Let me know asap because I already had the shop order the parts! Any pics would help. Couldn't find a red lex with a carbon hood

Well think of it this way, if you end up not liking it you can always paint it. In the end it will still be lighter than that stock hulk of a hood.

The only way Id have a cf hood on mine, is if it was painted. Or if the car was black, or super dark gray, or something.

yep yep 100%. another option is to get the seibon vented hood and paint everything except the vents, or just paint the outside edges, like cherplex's. ACTUALLY... what would look really good, is to sand the clear off completely, then have it recleared with some candy red mixed into the clear. Then you get the best of both words - it will be more color-matched than a straight black hood and you get to see the weave.

^ to break off of what he said, I remember seeing an STi that had a completely painted carbon fiber hood, except for right above the driver's side headlight where it had the "STi" logo unpainted. You could see the carbon fiber through it but the rest of the hood looked stock.

I don't think I would put a CF hood on any other color but MAYBE black but I would have to see a pic of a CF hood on a black car to see how it'd look. I just don't like how CF hoods, etc. look, but if it was not for looks and for a race-built SC to trim as much weight off as possible, then I can understand the need for it.

Yeah, after looking at those pics, Now I REALLY don't like the CF hood look From a distance, they kind of just look like mismatched panels, like a black hood off of a black SC I've just never been a fan of the CF hood look but if you like it, that's all that matters.

well everyone, i decided not to go for it. Just because I run the risk of ruining it in the winter (daily driver) and won't be able to get it painted till spring. I'll just make up the 40lbs difference with more boost! Thanks for everyones input, the only nice red car with the CFH was Emerald's car but she had a full body kit and it looked like the weaves were red??? Looked expensive
